Dorothy A. Durkin Rapp

Dorothy A. Durkin Rapp, 85, of Parlin died on Wednesday February 28, 2018 at Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy. Born in Jersey City she moved to Parlin in 1952. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, South Amboy, the Frog Hollow Swim Club and the Sayreville Senior Citizens.

Daughter of the late Ann Young Amodeo she is also predeceased by her husband Donald Walter Rapp in 2004, her son Donald William Rapp in 1996 and her sister Marilyn Pittilla. She is survived by her daughter Elayne Szydlo of New Egypt; her grandchildren Aimee Garces and her husband Miguel of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Erin Rapp and Dana Rapp both of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and her daughter-in-law Bonnie McArthur of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 10am at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 to 5pm.
