Joan H. Asselmeyer Sheridan, 84, of Parlin died Friday October 21, 2016 at Raritan Bay Medical Center Perth Amboy. Born in Maplewood she lived in Springfield, Summit and Myrtle Beach before moving to Parlin in 2000. Before retiring in 1992 she was employed by Newark Board of Education where she worked as a piano teacher and also as an independent teacher from home. She was a member of the Piano Teachers Society of America.

Daughter of the late George and Anna Pfeiffer Asselmeyer she is also predeceased by her daughter Cynthia Milton and her nephew Thomas Trull. She is survived by her husband Joseph Sheridan; her sisters Ellen Nix and her husband Clarence of Clifton and Gail Brumfield and her husband William of Oklahoma; her niece Dorothy Weaver and her nephews Jonathan Trull and David Vilet.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 26, 2016 at 10am at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6pm to 9pm.
