Johannes H. “John” Pitti, 88, of Toms River died on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Bayside Manor, Keansburg. Born in The Netherlands he immigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in South Amboy before later moving to Toms River. He was a former member of St. Bernadette Church, Parlin and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Before retiring he was employed by Key Industries, Cranbury.
Son of the late Pierre and Maria Stevens Pitti he is also predeceased by his wife Maria Klippert Pitti and his brothers Hubert and France and 2 grandchildren, Jeffrey and Kaitlyn Pitti. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Peter and Holly Pitti of Monroe and John and Nancy Pitti of Easton, Pennsylvania; his daughter and son-in-law Maria and Andrew Roerig of Port Monmouth; his siblings Mia, Anne, Julia, Gerard and Jef; 11 grandchildren Andrew, Christopher and David Roerig, Robert O’Neil, Justin, Tracy, Scott, Eric, Randy, Aimee and Daniel Pitti and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 11, 2018 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Church. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
