John Barrett, IV, 36, of Laurence Harbor died on Sunday February 18, 2018 at home. Born in New Brunswick he lived in South Amboy before moving to Laurence Harbor in 1995. He was a member of St. Bernadette Church, Parlin. John graduated from Old Bridge High School in 2000 where he was one of the greatest football players in Old Bridge history, #27. He also attended and played football at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pennsylvania and Wagner College in Staten Island, New York.
John is predeceased by his father John Barrett, III in 2016, he is also predeceased by his grandparents Fred Friedman, John Barrett, Jr. and Rosemarie Barrett and his 2 uncles Edward Barrett and William Bridgeman. He is survived by his mother Melissa Barrett; his brother Ryan Edward Barrett of Laurence Harbor, his grandmother Mary Jane Friedman; his uncle Fred Friedman and his wife Denise; his aunts Margaret Meyers and her husband Richard and Cynthia Terzino all of Old Bridge and Cynthia Maarlaveld and her husband Gary of Brick, his godfather Frank Terzino of Sayreville and several loving cousins.
Funerals services will be held on Friday February 23, 2018 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
