Lillian P. Shugrue MacNeil, 94, of South Amboy died on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at home. Born in Jersey City she lived in South Amboy for over 60 years. A member of St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy she was also a member of the St. Mary’s and South Amboy Seniors. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, shopping and taking trips with the senior citizens’ clubs.

Daughter of the late Patrick and Anne Linsky Shugrue she is also predeceased by her husband John MacNeil in 1983, her grandson Paul Chrzaszcz in 2012 and her siblings Ethel Payne, Kate Cirigliano, Anna Shugrue and Edward Shugrue. She is survived by her sons John P. MacNeil of Virginia, Robert F. MacNeil and his wife Rosalyn of Leonardo, Alexander R. MacNeil and his wife Jackie of Woodbridge; her daughters Patricia Regan and her husband Bill of South Amboy, Linda LaPira of Virginia, Diane Binkowski and her husband Ed of Pennsylvania, Eileen Brown and her husband Mike of South Amboy, Maureen Fisher and her husband Joe of North Brunswick and Anne Chrzaszcz and her husband Mike of South Amboy; 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 25, 2017 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Amby First Aid Squad, PO Box 328, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
