Loretta Stolte Hagerman, 91, of South Amboy died on Thursday June 15, 2017 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick surrounded by her loving children. Born in Perth Amboy she lived in South Amboy, Williamsville, New York and Barnegat before returning to South Amboy several years ago. A graduate of Perth Amboy High School, she was previously employed by Caldor, Barnegat. A communicant of St. Bernadette’s R.C. Church, Parlin, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the St. Bernadette Senior Citizens, the Women’s Guild of the Consolata Fathers and the Diocese of Metuchen Mothers of Priests. She was a past president of the South Amboy Democratic Club, a member of the Welcome Wagon in Williamsville, New York as well as a Eucharistic Minister and bake sale coordinator at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat.

Daughter of the late George and Loretta O’Neil Stolte she is also predeceased by her husband James P. Hagerman in 1991 and her brothers James and George Stolte. She is survived by her son Rev. James W. Hagerman of Parlin; her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Mark Bratus of Morgan; her grandchildren Jeannette Kassay and her husband George of Old Bridge and Craig Poulson and his wife Jennifer of Milltown and 6 great-grandchildren Chelsea, Keegan, Kyle, Megan, Katelynn and Ryan.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 19, 2017 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 7pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals”.
