Patricia Mary Malacane McNerny, 74, of Monroe died on Monday July 10, 2017 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she lived in South Amboy before moving to Monroe 2 years ago. Before retiring she was the head bookkeeper in ShopRite of Edison and Sayreville and was previously employed as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines, Newark. A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy she was an avid New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, cooking and baking but loved her children and grandchildren above all else.

Daughter of the late Francis and Mary Keefe Malacane she is also predeceased by her son Thomas McNerny and her daughter Patricia Tomlinson. She is survived by her husband Thomas McNerny; her children Colleen Balas and her husband Edward of Howell, Richard McNerny and his wife Julie of Battle Creek, Michgan, Michael McNerny and his companion Angela Langston of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Lorraine Zebro and her husband Kevin of East Brunswick, Scott McNerny and his wife Michelle of Matawan and Karen Christie and her husband Andrew of East Brunswick; her brothers and sisters-in-law Frank and Chris Malacane of McLean, Virginia and Gary and Sharon Malacane of South Riding, Virginia; her sisters Janet Malacane-Carl and her husband Peter of San Diego, California and Kathy Truman of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania; 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 14, 2017 at 9:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, Keyport. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad, PO Box 328, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
