Paul R. Murphy, Jr., 77, of Bloomsbury died on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington. Born in the Bronx, New York he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Son of the late Paul and Catherine Davitt Murphy, Sr., he is also predeceased by his wife Joan T. O’Shaughnessy Murphy in 2014. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Paul and Patty Murphy of Bloomsbury and Sean and Eileen Murphy of Clearwater Beach, Florida; his daughters and sons-in-law Christine and Chris McIvor of Sea Girt, Catherine and Tom Byrnes of Morgan, Patricia and Lino Branco of Laurence Harbor, and Maureen Murphy and her fiancée Eddie Kern of Morgan; his brothers Richard Murphy of South Carolina, Edward Murphy and his wife Geraldine of the Bronx; his sister Eileen Schell and her husband Frank of  Florida; 7 grandchildren, Miguel, Chelsea, Paul IV, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Ian and Dillon; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals" 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, South Amboy. Interment will be at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown . Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
