Theresa M. Render English, 85, of Matawan died on Wednesday October 18, 2017 at home. Born in South Amboy she lived there all her life. A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy she was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She loved camping, music, being with family and friends and will always be remembered for her great sense of humor.

Daughter of the late Phil and Mary Stolte Render she is also predeceased by her husband John R. “Jake” English in 2015 and her brothers Phil, Theodore and Charles Render. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Philip J. and Anna English of South Amboy; her daughter Ann Laverne English of Matawan; her granddaughter Stephanie Hathcock and her husband Andrew of Old Bridge and her nephew Phil Render and his wife Angela of Virginia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 at 9:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals “237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad, P.O.
