Allen Jackson Obituary

Allen Jackson, 69, of Oceanport died on Sunday January 21, 2018 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Newark he lived in Carteret and California before settling in Oceanport. An ironworker by trade he was a member of Iron Workers Local 11 of Newark and was the owner of K & A Architectural Metal & Glass. A 1966 graduate of Carteret High School, he was the class president and was the captain of the football and basketball teams. He also attended Temple University and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Monmouth College. His passions were tennis, surfing, golf and politics.

Son of the late Roy Arthur and Margaret Bost Jackson he is also predeceased by his brother Gary Jackson. He is survived by his partner Kim DeMott; his son and daughter-in-law Aaron and Erin Jackson of Chula Vista, California; his grandchildren Mattie and Emily Jackson; his stepdaughter Raeann DeMott of Oceanport; his nephew Scott Jackson of Cape Coral, Florida and his niece Cari Jackson of Cape Coral Florida.

Visitation will be held on Saturday January 27, 2018 from 4 to 8pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Save the Children, 501 Kings Highway East, Suite 400, Fairfield, CT 06825.
