Elizabeth “Betty Jane” Ust Semenza, 76, of South Amboy died on Monday October 8, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South Amboy she lived there all her life. She was employed by the Diocese of Metuchen, Office of Cemeteries. A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy she was an avid fan of the New York Mets, Giants and Jets and she also loved Neil Diamond. She took great pleasure in meeting with her childhood friends every month for over 50 years and adored her grandchildren above all else.
Daughter of the late Paul J., Sr. and Pauline “Pat” Bogurski Ust she is also predeceased by her dearest friend Louis J. Marrone in 2015 and her sister Barbara Ann Ust in 1944. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Teresa Semenza of Hazle Township, Pennsylvania; her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Richard Stawick of Freeland, Pennsylvania; her brothers Paul J. Ust, Jr. and his wife Paula of Sammamish, Washington, Alexander Ust and his wife Joanne of South Amboy and Daniel Ust of Aberdeen; her grandchildren Keith, Mark and Luke Stawick and Danielle, Nicole and Michael Semenza; her nieces and nephews Paulie, Andrew, Brant, Sarah, Alex, Jr., Lynn, Barbara and Jeff and many cherished godchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 9:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Food Pantry, 256 Augusta Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
