Edward F. Holon, 89, of Morgan died on Thursday September 13, 2018 at Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy. Born in Perth Amboy he lived in Morgan. Before retiring he was employed as an electrician for Lyons Veterans Hospital for 16 years and Anaconda/Copper Works for 25 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a sergeant in the Korean War, earning 4 Bronze Service Stars.
Son of the late Leon and Ella Lipo Holon he is also predeceased by his wife Doris Owens Holon in 2006, his son Jeffrey Holon in 2013 and his granddaughter Jessica in 2013. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Linda and David Nixon of Pittsboro, North Carolina; his daughter-in-law Debi Holon of Toms River; his grandchildren Brian and his wife Monica, Michael and his wife Christina, Theresa and her husband Robert, Alex and his wife Hannah, Cameron, and Ryan and his wife Lauren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 20, 2018 at 10:30am at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 9pm.
