George Nelson, 54, of Morgan died on Thursday June 29, 2017 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Perth Amboy he lived in South Amboy all his life. He was the store manager of CVS, Somerset. He attended Fellowship Bible Church, Woodbridge and was an avid New York Mets and Giants fan. A volunteer at New Beginnings Animal Shelter, he had 4 cats whom he loved, especially Baby Hershey.

Son of the late William E, Jr. and Grace Pearson Nelson he is survived by his daughter Heather Nelson of Morgan; his brother William E. Nelson, III of Morgan; his sister Grace E. Kellar and her husband John of Morgan; his nieces Susan Fernandez and her husband Chris of Windermere, Florida, Lynn Kellar of Old Bridge, Amy Szulczynski and her husband Bart of Matawan and Sarah Kellar and her fiancé Pat Duff of Matawan.

A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Sunday July 2, 2017 at “The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
