Glenn W. Murphy, Jr., 66, of South Amboy died on Saturday May 6, 2017 at home. Born in South Amboy, he was raised in Edison. He graduated John P. Stevens High School, Class of 1969. He also lived in Las Vegas for over a decade, before returning home to NJ. He was employed by J. Tramutola Construction, Lebanon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a highly skilled craftsman, who enjoyed making cabinetry and furniture. His passions were traveling, and cooking with the different styles he learned from other parts of the country.

Son of the late Glenn W., Sr. and Ruth McMahon Murphy he is survived by his daughters Tammy Murphy of Jackson, and Lynn Murphy of Sayreville; his grandsons Daniel Smith and Matthew Murphy, as well as his extended family, Barbara Importico and her children Christine James and Michael Importico, and her grandchildren Evan and Sean Driscoll.

Glenn was a beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and a dear friend to many.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 11, 2017 at 8:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed a 9am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s R. C. Church, South Amboy. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm.
