Jean Corvino Halperin Obituary

Jean M. Corvino Halperin, 93, of South Amboy died on Saturday December 29, 2018 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania she moved to South Amboy in 1933. A graduate of St. Mary’s High School she was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy. She loved movies, Bingo, decorating for the holidays, shopping and her family above all else.

Daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine Pirosa Corvino she is also predeceased by her husband James Halperin in 1998 and her siblings Joseph, Al, John, Albert, Ang, Helen and Theresa. She is survived by her daughter Pam Halperin of Roseville, California and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 3, 2019 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment will be in the Corvino Family Mausoleum in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Hopelawn. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Food Pantry, 256 Augusta Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
