Joseph Cuddihy, 96, of Sayreville died on Sunday December 30, 2018 at Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy. Born in Jersey City he grew up in New York and Hoboken and lived in Sayreville most of his life. Before retiring he was employed in sales for various companies. A veteran of the U.S. Army he was a member of St. Bernadette’s R.C. Church, Parlin and VFW Post 4699, Sayreville.
Son of the late Joseph and Elsie Stein Cuddihy he is also predeceased by his wife Janet Leary Cuddihy and his grandson Sean Weck. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Deborah Cuddihy of Wrentham, Massachusetts; his daughters and sons-in-law Maureen and John O’Sullivan of Long Beach Island and Debra and Robert Weck of Sayreville; his grandchildren Christopher Caliendo and his wife Evelyn of Chicago, Illinois, Brian Weck of Sayreville, Joseph Cuddihy and his wife Elizabeth of Wrentham, Massachusetts and Tara Dietz and her husband Brett of Medfield, Massachusetts and his great-grandchildren Nathan and Audrey Caliendo.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 4, 2019 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Church, Parlin. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
