Kenneth W. Mundy, 91, of South Amboy died on Thursday July 26, 2018 at home. Born in South Amboy he lived there all his life. Before retiring he was employed as a carpenter foreman for E.I. DuPont & Co., Parlin where he was also a member of the 10 and 25 Year Clubs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A member of Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy and Independence Engine & Hose Company he belonged to the New Jersey Fire Chief’s and Exempt Fireman’s Associations and served as Chief of the South Amboy Fire Department in 1962.
Son of the late Frank and Ottilie Major Mundy he is also predeceased by his wife Virginia “Jeanne” C. Crowe Mundy in 2011; his brothers Francis Mundy and his wife Marian, Raymond Mundy and his wife Margaret, Allen Mundy and his wife Charlotte, LeRoy and Sheldon Mundy; his sister Josephine Rehfuss; his daughter-in-law Aneca Garnett and his great-granddaughter Megan Elizabeth Garnett. He is survived by his sons William Garnett and his wife Linda of South Amboy and Gerald Garnett of South Amboy; his grandchildren Kelly Ann Trzeciak and her husband Thomas and William Garnett; his great-grandchildren Emily and Erin Trzeciak and Maura and Will Garnett and his caretaker Maliah Chance.
Funeral services will be held on Monday July 30, 2018 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Requiem Eucharist at Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 7pm.
