Margaret Vacca Guzzi, 99, of South Amboy passed away peacefully on Saturday March 23, 2019 at home. Born in South Amboy, she lived in various places before settling down in South Amboy in 1961. Before retiring, she worked at Perth Amboy General Hospital in the dietary department.
Daughter of the late Angelo Vacca and Antoinette Leonardo. Margaret was also predeceased by her husband, the late Anthony J., Sr. in 1989; three children, a son Anthony J., Jr.; and a daughter Diana Grover; a son Raymond; sisters Norma, Gertrude and Joan; a brother Anthony; and number of other siblings. She is survived by her children Eugene Guzzi and his wife Raeanne of Middletown; Joanne Thierbach and her husband Mark of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and James Guzzi of South Amboy, nine grandchildren Joseph, Jennifer, Lori, Cristin and her husband Paul, Amanda, Jacqueline, Holly, Sarah and Carol; and eight great-grandchildren Robert, Madison, Alexander, Jessie, Chloe, Tristan, Jackson, and Antonio born on March, 20, 2019 and many nieces and nephews.
She was known for singing and playing her harmonica. She loved taking care of her family. Any time anyone visited the house she always welcomed people with open arms and made people feel at home. She was outspoken and her opinion was known to all she came in contact. She will be remembered fondly by those that knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 26, 2019 at 1pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment in Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12 noon to 1pm.
