Mary Billiy Melnick, 91, of Sayreville passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday December 24, 2017. Born in Perth Amboy, Mary lived in Sayreville for 62 years. Before retiring, Mary worked for 25 years at Sunshine Biscuits in manufacturing. She also worked at the former handkerchief factory in Perth Amboy.

Mary loved her home and was an avid gardener. She took great pride in her yard and the beautiful flowers she planted year after year. She was a member of the Sayreville Senior Tuesday Club for many years and loved line dancing and music.

Daughter of the late Steve and Anna Billiy, she is also predeceased by her husband Michael Melnick; her brother Steve Billiy and her sisters Ann Hasko and Betty Billiy. Mary is survived by her daughter Joyce Nicolaison and her husband Peter of Kendall Park; her son Michael Melnick and his wife Karen of Lake Lehman, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Lisa Nicolaison and her husband Matt Haines and Nicole and Lauren Melnick; extended family Kristine and Larry Schultz and daughter Kristine and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday December 29, 2017 at 12 noon at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 10am to 12 noon.
