Peggy E. Heffner Woods

Peggy E. Heffner Woods, 74, of Parlin died on Sunday July 29, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Camden, South Carolina she lived in Columbia, South Carolina and the Bronx, New York before moving to Parlin in 1970. Before retiring in 2004 she was the owner and operator of Artistic Flowers, Sayreville with her daughter Peggy. A member of St. Bernadette R.C. Church, Parlin she especially loved spending time with her family and friends and being at the Jersey shore. She was admired for her strong, kind and giving personality.

Daughter of the late John and Alma Davis Heffner she is also predeceased by her brother Alba Heffner and her sisters Joncie Sanders and Myrtle Fuller. She is survived by her husband Patrick J. Woods, Sr.; her sons Michael E. Woods of South Seaside Park and Patrick J. Woods, II and his wife Barbara of Jackson; her daughter Peggy Sems-Woods of East Brunswick; her sister Lois Nates of Columbia, South Carolina and her grandchildren Daniella, Allison, Alex, Brandon, Val and Jason.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin. Interment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm.
