Robert F. Leslie

Robert F. Leslie, 80, of Brick died on Friday March 30, 2018 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in South Amboy he lived there before moving to Brick. He was the owner of Leslie & Son Roofing, South Amboy. A United States Air Force veteran, he served as South Amboy Councilman-at-large in 1970. He was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church South Amboy and Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Bayhead. An exempt member of the Mechanicsville Fire Department he also belonged to the South Amboy Lions Club, the South Amboy Elks and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 426.

Son of the late Frederick F. and Dorothy Holton Leslie he is survived by his wife Agnes Davies Leslie; his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Christa Leslie of Sayreville; his daughter Rosemary Vona of Maryville, Tennessee; his grandchildren Melissa and Matthew Leslie and Glenn and Gianna Vona and his cousins Stephen Pavich and his wife Nancy of Barnegat and Rosemary Naughton and her husband Martin of Brick.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 9:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad, PO Box 328, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
