Robert Nieltopp Obituary

Robert L. Nieltopp, 87, of South Amboy died on Tuesday September 24, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Born in South Amboy he lived there all his life. A 1950 graduate of H. G. Hoffman High School he served in the U.S. Navy on the Battleship USS New Jersey BB-62 during the Korean War before serving as president of Title Agency Inc., South River, retiring at the age of 85 in 2017. An active member of Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy he was also a member of the New Jersey Land Title Association and VFW Post 4699, Sayreville. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and loved spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a true family man and a true patriot of our country.

Son of the late Lloyd F. and Margaret Nieltopp he is also predeceased by his wife of 53 years Madeline C. “Mattie” Hughes Nieltopp in 2008 and his daughter Carol A. Litwienski in 2015. He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Marty Dombrowski of South Amboy; his son-in-law Joseph Litwienski of Bloomsbury; his grandson Jason Dombrowski and his wife Lisa of Sayreville; his granddaughter Allison Rasimowicz and her husband Steven of Glen Gardner; his sister Janet Larson and her husband Norris of Evanston, Illinois; his beloved great-grandchildren Emily, Anthony, Lucas, Bridget and Colin; his nieces Karen Larson of New York City and Andrea Larson and her husband Erik of Richmond, Virginia and his dear friend Alice Christathakis of Keyport.

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 27, 2019 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Requiem Eucharist at Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Haven Hospice, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08820.
