Robert Martin Rathbun, 63, of Sayreville died on Sunday April 16, 2017 at home. Born in South Amboy, he grew up in the Morgan section of Sayreville. Before retiring he was employed by Roofers Local #4, Parsippany.

Son of the late Wallace A. and Clare Hooper Rathbun he is also predeceased by his daughter Jennifer Rathbun, his sister Anne Mataranglo and his granddaughter Nicole Kuzma. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Kuzma and her husband Richard, Jr. of Sayreville; his son Robert Rathbun, Jr. and his companion Merry Nittoli of Rahway; his siblings Bill Rathbun and his wife Aina of Sayreville, Marie Davis of Snowflake, Arizona, Betty Kumpa and her husband Tom of South Amboy and Tom Rathbun of Sayreville; his grandchildren Bianca Kuzma and Richard Kuzma, III and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday April 21, 2017 at 10am at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sayreville Association for Brain Injured Children (BIC), 251 Jernee Mill Road, Sayreville, NJ 08872.
