Suzanne T. MacAvoy Bocchino, 70, of South Amboy died on Monday July 24, 2017 at home. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York she lived in South Amboy for over 30 years. Before retiring she was employed by ConAir Corporation, East Windsor for over 25 years. A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy she also volunteered as a collection counter. She loved taking trips to Atlantic City, watching the New York Mets and spending time with her family, especially her grandson, above all else.
Daughter of the late James and Margaret Whaley MacAvoy she is survived by her husband Frank Bocchino; her daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline and Peter Joseph DeBiase of Wall; her sister Margaret Savastano of Old Bridge; her grandson Matthew Ryan DeBiase of Wall; her sister-in-law Joan Bocchino of Edison; her nephew Richard Savastano and his wife Wendy; her niece Adrian Walz and her husband Fred; her great-nephew Jake Ryan Savastano and her great-niece Jessie Catelyn Savastano.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 28, 2017 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8pm.
