Alfonsina J. Facendo Leonard

Alfonsina J. “Funzy” Facendo Leonard, 86, of South Amboy died on Monday May 12, 2025 at home. Born in Perth Amboy she lived in South Amboy all her life. Before retiring she was employed by FoodTown, South Amboy.  A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy she enjoyed playing cards and going to the beach and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Fimiani Facendo she is also predeceased by her husband Michael Leonard in 1999; her son Patrick W. Leonard in 2019; her brothers Matt, Joey and Michael Facendo and her sisters Dolores Abramik, Renee Kindzia, Londa Tkcas and Toni Facendo. She is survived by her son Michael J. Leonard; her sister Sr. Rosemarie Facendo, MPF; her daughter-in-law Michelle Leonard; her grandchildren Patrick Leonard and his wife Brittany, Keelyn Leonard and Nicole Leonard and her fiancé Mike Anderson and her great-grandchildren Berkley and Cooper.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 15, 2025 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Entombment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park Mausoleum, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm.
