Angela Rose Plinio Lordi, 78, of Matawan passed peacefully at home on Thursday April 7, 2022. Born in Newark, she lived in Sayreville and Union Beach before settling in Cheesequake Village. She was employed as a secretary for Grimm-Jones, Inc., East Brunswick until retiring in 1991 and then happily worked part-time as the Queen of Broadway Bagels in South Amboy from 1998 to 2020, where she made many friends. Angela was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and could talk baseball with the best of them. A loyal, beautiful, and confident woman, she loved her family and friends, her job and her customers at the bagel store, most cuisine and dining out, dressing nice, crafts and card games, her music, especially Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones, Bread, Linda Ronstadt, Barry Manilow, Paul Anka and so many more. She always had music playing in her happy household and had quite the musical influence on her children and grandchildren.
Daughter of the late Alexander and Theresa Uzzolino Plinio, Angela was predeceased by her husband Jack, her brother Richard Plinio and her daughter-in-law Alicia Capano. She is survived by her daughters Maria Soto and her husband Joe; Diana Chance and her husband Douglas; her son Michael Lordi; her brother Alex Plinio and his wife Rosemarie; her sister-in-law Mary Plinio; her grandchildren Dillon and his wife Francheska, Nolan, Douglas, Jr. and his wife Amy, Nicholas, Catherine, Michael, Jr., Matthew and Emily; her great-grandchildren Darien, Devin and Marina and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of Angela’s life will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 1 to 3pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy which will include a service at 2:30.
