Anne (Wahler) Peterson passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Anne was born on February 17, 1952, to John and Mary Wahler. She was the youngest of eight children and was a lifelong resident of South Amboy, New Jersey.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years Walter D. Peterson, Sr., sons Walter Peterson, Jr. and wife Heather; and Jonathan Peterson, daughter Kimberly Gundrum and husband George, brother Kenneth Wahler and sisters Patricia “Babe” Uvegas and Elizabeth “Betty” Collow and many nieces and nephews. Most importantly, she was an amazing “Gram” to Christopher and Grace Gundrum and Walter III “Trey” and Mackenna Peterson. She is predeceased by her sisters Marie Walsh, Catherine Spann, and brothers Frank Wahler and John Wahler.
Above all, Anne devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. They were her greatest priority. She found happiness selflessly giving of herself to enrich their lives. When Anne was not busy engaged in a labor of love, or basking in the presence of her family, she enjoyed her dog, Tex, crafting, shopping, and watching sports, especially the NY Yankees, UNC basketball, the Devils, the Warriors and any other team her family followed.
Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin was private under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy.
