August J. Menzel

August J. “Augie” Menzel, 84, of the Morgan section of Sayreville died on Tuesday October 31, 2023 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Sayreville he lived there all his life. Before retiring he was employed as a carpenter for Local 1006, Milltown. A talented woodworker, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son.

Son of the late August and Isabella Hansen Menzel he is also predeceased by his sister Edna Roller and his brothers-in-law Anthony Carbone and Charles Carbone and his wife June. He is survived by his wife Gaetana Morminello Menzel; his daughter Lori Menzel; his son Michael Menzel; his sister Valeria King; his brother-in-law Frank Morminello and his wife Joyce; his sister-in-law Joan Carbone and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday November 3, 2023 from 4 to 7pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
