Donald Gregory Stovall

Donald Gregory Stovall of Menlo Park Terrace, a lifelong New Jersey resident, passed in his home Sunday morning, December 5, 2021.

He is survived by his 4 daughters, Dana Tortorello, Nicole Stovall and her husband Ruben Salgado, Brittany and her husband Zachariah Zultanky, and Allison and her husband Justin Espino; his 4 grandchildren, Jayden Tortorello, Olivia Stovall, and Brynn and Dominick Zultanky; his former wife, Barbara Killelea; and so many beloved friends and cousins.

He is predeceased by his beloved brother Bob Stovall, his sister-in-law Maureen Loar, his mother MaryEllen Lake, his father Rufus Stovall and some dear friends he has missed all these years.

Don had an incredible love for life, his family and his friends. He was a proud longtime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in South Amboy.

He loved cars and was a lifelong collector and driver. There was always something new (to him) and fun parked in the driveway or tucked away in the garage.

You could call him for directions anywhere in NJ—he hoped you would.

He had a passion for music, loved to share it, and was a mean dashboard drummer.

He took great pride in coaching all of his daughter’s sports teams when they were young, and particularly loved being “Coach Don” on their soccer teams.

He adored his grandchildren and seldom missed a sporting event or recital. 

His great joy in life came from spending time with his loved ones. He would have liked nothing more than to sit down with you over a few beers and share stories of his life—some you’ve likely heard more than once.

He got to spend the last year and a half with his precious poodle, Chestnut.

He enjoyed his life to the very end. He will be deeply missed.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday December 8, 2021 from 6 to 9pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday December 9 at 10am at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 256 Augusta Street, South Amboy.

A celebration of life will follow at the AOH in South Amboy. His family would love to see you.

The AOH will have their service at 7pm on Wednesday evening.
