Donald C. Thomas “Smiley”, 65, of Parlin died on Friday May 5, 2023 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in South Amboy he was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy, Knights of Columbus Council 426, the Irish American Association and served as a South Amboy Councilman for 9 years.
Son of the late Gerald and Sarah Jackson Thomas he is survived by his wife Deborah Rosman Thomas; his daughter and son-in-law Breann and Spiro Petroutsos; his brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Maureen Thomas; his sister and brother-in-law Carol and Peter Dann; his grandson Dean Petroutsos and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad.
