Edward F. Conroy, 76, of the Morgan section of Sayreville died on Monday October 1, 2018 at Roosevelt Care Center, Old Bridge. Born in South Amboy he lived there all his life. Before retiring in 2004 he was employed by the Middlesex County Utilities Authority and Dooling Electric. A U.S. Army veteran he was a member and former usher at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy, as well as a member of South Amboy Fire Department, Enterprise Snorkel #1. He was a man who lived his faith, loved his family and loved and cherished his grandchildren.
Son of the late Henry and Joan Dooling Conroy he is also predeceased by his brother John Conroy. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Brennan Conroy; his daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Robert Rodgers of East Brunswick; his brother and sister-in-law Henry and Eileen Conroy of Bricktown; his sister and brother-in-law Blanche and William Savage of Virginia; his sister-in-law Catherine Conroy of Pennsylvania; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Katherine Brennan of Parlin; his sister-in-law Doris Brennan of Parlin; his granddaughters Allison and Caitlyn and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 5, 2018 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary’s Church, 256 Augusta St., South Amboy, 08879.
