Edwin John O'Connor

Edwin John O’Connor, 82, of the Morgan section of Sayreville died on Wednesday April 8, 2026 at home. Born in Rahway he moved to Hawaii after college and then spent time in Tahoe, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles before settling in Morgan in 1995. Before retiring he was employed by Aegis, Jersey City. Ed loved spending time in Manasquan, his favorite place, watching the day and people go by. He was an avid NASCAR and racing fan, a golf enthusiast, and loved taking yearly trips to Watkins Glen.

Son of the late Edwin and Mary Grimes O’Connor he is survived by his wife of 33 years Janet Lockwood O’Connor; his sister Mary Margaret Allan; the Lockwood family and many beloved nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 14, 2026 at 9:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Monday from 3-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hillsdale College, www.hillsdale.edu or “Luke A.
