Eleanor Cohan Munck, 97, of South Amboy died on Sunday February 15, 2026 at home. Born in Jersey City she was employed as a crossing guard for the City of South Amboy for 30 years and by the St. Mary Grammar & High Schools cafeteria. She was a member of St. Lawrence R.C. Church, Laurence Harbor, the altar rosary society and the South Amboy Senior Citizens.
Daughter of the late Harry and Anna Ruby Cohan she is also predeceased by her husband William M. “Chip” Munck in 2012 and her son baby Michael. She is survived by her sons William (Doreen), Michael and David (Sunny) Munck; her daughter Eleanor Ufferfilge and her husband Tom; her sister Judy Neumann; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 24, 2026 at 4:30pm during visitation from 2 to 5pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad.
