Gary E. Timpson, 79, of South Amboy passed away on Tuesday January 21, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Elizabeth he spent most of his childhood in Old Bridge. A 1964 graduate of Middlesex County Vocational School, New Brunswick, he trained as a carpenter and cabinetmaker before spending a career as an auto body repairman. He served in the US Army as a military police officer, before being honorably discharged at the rank of Private, First Class. He was also an avid gardener, woodworker and overall Mr. Fix-it.
Son of the late Frederick and Helen Sunich Timpson he is also predeceased by his siblings Arlene, Frederick, Richard, Eugene and Wesley Timpson and Barbara Mandato. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Catherine “Babe” McKeon Timpson; his daughter and son-in-law Katie and John O’Connor; his adored grandchildren Anna Catherine, John Edward and Declan Patrick; his siblings Lois Clark, Colleen McIntosh, Regina Mullins and Phillip Timpson; his sweethearts Aislinn, Delaney and Braelynn Crowe and Kayla Clark and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 25, 2025 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul School, 250 James Street, Burlington, NJ 08016; please note New Roof Fund.
