Geraldine Dey Golembeski

Geraldine Dey Golembeski, 92, of South Amboy died on Sunday October 1, 2023 peacefully at home. Born in South Amboy she lived there all her life. She was previously employed by Peterson’s Pharmacy and FoodTown, South Amboy. A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy she was also a member of the Senior Citizens, in addition to the South Amboy and Sayreville Senior Citizens and the St. Lawrence Rosary Society. An avid fan of the New York Mets, she enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.

Daughter of the late Harold and Helen Dooling Dey she is also predeceased by her husband Stephen R. Golembeski in 1997; her son James Golembeski in August and her brother Robert Dey. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Carol Golembeski; her daughter and son-in-law Mary Ann and Edward Downes; her daughter-in-law Robin Golembeski; her grandchildren Jeffrey Downes and his wife Chloe, SJ Golembeski and his wife Ashley and Briann Downes and her great-grandchildren Steph, Blair and Blaze.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 11, 2023 at 9:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
