Helen Ruszala Dragotta

Helen [Ruszala] Dragotta, 89, entered into eternal rest on Friday June 2, 2023. She was born in Perth Amboy and resided in South Amboy for the past 56 years. Helen was the proud mother of three children. John Dragotta and his wife Diane, Roy Dragotta, and Marie Dragotta-Smith and her husband James Smith all residing in South Amboy. She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren Joseph and his wife Sarah, Nicholas, Charles, Hannah and Jenna. She was predeceased by her former husband and friend Joseph “Roy” Dragotta in 2017. Helen was a sports enthusiast whether in a bowling league or cheering on her children at their high school or rec league games. A devoted Mom, you could always find her in the stands. When not at her kid’s games, Helen spent many summer days following her NY Yankees and watching the NY Rangers in the winter. A game would not go missed.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 8, 2023 at 10am at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Keasbey. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
