James R. Golembeski, 66, of Parlin died on Sunday August 27, 2023 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in South Amboy he was previously employed by the Borough of Sayreville. A member of St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy he was also a member of the AFSCME, Matt Talbot and Friends of Bill W. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets, Notre Dame football and NASCAR and enjoyed attending races at Wall Stadium. Jimmie liked to travel and spend time with his friends and family. He and his wife Robin reconnected after 35 years and found in each other the loves of their lives.
Son of the late Stephen R. Golembeski, Sr. he is survived by his wife Robin Guzzo Golembeski; his son Patrick Leccese; his daughter Alyssa Leccese; his mother Geraldine Dey Golembeski; his siblings Maryann Downes and her husband Edward and Stephen Golembeski and his wife Carol; his nieces and nephews SJ and Ashley Golembeski and Jeffrey, Chloe and Briann Downes and his great-nieces and great-nephews Steph, Blair and Blaze Golembeski.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 31, 2023 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
