James J. Switzer

James J. Switzer, 69, of Toms River died on Sunday December 7, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South Amboy he grew up in Morgan and moved to Toms River in 2022. He was employed as a welder and machine operator with Local 825, Springfield, as a 911 cleanup worker and with J. Fletcher Creamer for 16 years. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them anything he could.

Son of the late James and Alice Mills Switzer he is also predeceased by his granddaughter Kiara Pell and his brothers Patrick and Alexander Switzer. He is survived by his wife Lynn Bringhurst Switzer; his daughters and sons-in-law Jamie and Matthew Paullus and Shannan and John Pell; his grandchildren Devon Pell, Jaylin Diaz and Scarlett and Jaxson Paullus; his mother-in-law Ethel Bringhurst; his sisters-in-law Joanne Switzer and Theresa Bringhurst and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation was private. A memorial service will be held at 6:30pm on Friday December 12, 2025 during visiting from 4 to 7pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy.
