Janice Gereghty Sprague Obituary

Janice Gereghty Sprague, 93, of the Morgan section of Sayreville died on Thursday February 11, 2021 at Care One at East Brunswick. Born in South Amboy she lived in Morgan all her life. Before retiring she was employed as the registrar of the Sayreville Board of Health. A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy she was also a past member of the Morgan Hose & Chemical Ladies Auxiliary.

Daughter of the late Joseph F. and Isabelle Farrell Gereghty she is also predeceased by her husband Douglas A. Sprague in 2013. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Douglas J. Sprague Sr. and Sandi Zimmerman of Alabama and Jeffrey J. and JoAnn Sprague of Morgan; her sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Leo Scully; her grandchildren Susan Sprague Lee and her husband Andrew, Jody Sprague, Douglas Sprague, Jr. and Jayme Sprague and her great-grandchildren Christian, Jonathan, Ryan and Brandon.

Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport was private under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. A Memorial Mass will be offered at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Morgan First Aid Squad, 1960 NJ-35, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
