John Anthony Cumber

John Cumber, 81, of South Amboy died on Saturday May 8, 2021 at the Venetian Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy. Born in Perth Amboy he was employed as a roofer. He enjoyed caring for his children’s dogs, running to the food store, playing lottery and scratch-offs and trips to Atlantic City.

He is survived by his children John Cumber, Scott Cumber, Mark Cumber, Nadene Burlew and Patricia Signorile; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his siblings Steven Cumber, Patricia Beveridge, JoJo Suswal, Michael Suswal; his beloved sister-in-law Sarah Cumber and his four-legged furry friends Lexi, Jayce, Jax and Max.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 12, 2021 at 7:30pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
