John F. Lasko, 81, of South Amboy died on Thursday January 21, 2021 at the Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Bayonne he attended Stevens Institute of Technology and was employed by several manufacturing companies as a chemical engineer. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #426, South Amboy as well as a member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s R.C. Church. A major part of his life was dedicated to the leadership and brotherhood of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Son of the late John S. and Julia Tkac Lasko he is also predeceased by his daughter Carolyn Lasko. He is survived by his daughters Christine Lasko Gesell and Sandra Lynn Lasko Brescher; his sister and brother-in-law Dolores and Robert Suminski and his grandson Scott Tyler Brescher.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 25, 2021 at 12:15pm from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 1pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Monday morning only from 10:30am to 12:15pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
