John McNeal

John “Grandpa” McNeal, 80, of South Amboy died on Friday March 25, 2022 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Newark he was previously employed by Con-Lux Coatings in Edison. A former Captain of Independence Fire Company, South Amboy, he also served as a crossing guard for the City of South Amboy.
Son of the late Henry John and Mae Henry McNeal he is also predeceased by his sisters Edna Summerer and Jackie Hills. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Ray Ghigliotty; his son Patrick McNeal and his grandchildren Raymond Ghigliotty III and Natalie Ghigliotty and her fiancé Kyle.
Funeral services will be held on Monday March 28, 2022 at 6pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
