John Bauer Obituary

John T. “Red” Bauer, 70, of South Amboy died on Tuesday January 28, 2025 at home. Born in Rahway he grew up in Avenel before moving to South Amboy. Before retiring in 2018 he was employed by Allied Aviation at Newark Liberty International Airport. A member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, South Amboy he previously served as on the Avenel Fire Department from 1976-1981. An avid car enthusiast, John raced cars in his youth and was a lover of Corvettes he also enjoyed building many cars over the years and he could fix almost anything.

Son of the late John T. and Jeanne Elliott Bauer he is also predeceased by his father-in-law Jack Trawinski and his brother-in-law Richard Fowler. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Trawinski Bauer; his sons John Bauer and Michael Devine and his wife Jisun; his grandson William; his sister Ellen Fowler; his mother-in-law Barbara Trawinski; his sister-in-law Jackie Rokicki and her husband Rob; his nephews Lt. Col. Butch Baumann and Greg and Glen Rokicki and his niece J.J. Baumann; and cousins Barbara, Jim and Louise Elliot and their families.

Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin was private under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy.
