Joyce Marian (nee Parmar) Solanki
Born on November 25, 1939 in Surat, Gujarat, India
Deceased on May 29, 2026, Parlin, New Jersey, US
Joyce was once a teacher at IP Mission Girls High School in Surat, India for approximately seven years. She immigrated to the US in 1972. She was an accounts payable/receivable employee for the K-Mart Distribution Center, North Bergen, NJ from 1976 to 1994. She also worked in the banking industry up until retirement, after which she was a part-time retail clerk.
Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and sewing. Joyce was a member of First Presbyterian Church, South Amboy, NJ, where she once served on the board of deacons and volunteered at the church food pantry. Joyce was an avid writer of published inspirational and religious articles and poetry in English and Gujarati. She also was fond of singing Gujarati folk songs and folk dance.
Joyce Solanki, who was a hard worker, tenacious in spirit, and a champion of her immediate and extended family, was firm in her faith in Christ.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 62 years, Madhu, son Nimish, daughter Molly, brother Christopher, sisters Sylvia and Pearly, and her extended family in the USA and all over the world.
