Judith Ann Cannon Smith Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Ann Cannon Smith of South Amboy, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend and devoted dog lover. Judy's courageous battle with multiple myeloma came to an end on July 9, 2026. She was 75 years old.


Judy was a devout Catholic who graduated from Felician College and began her career as a visiting nurse and later retired from Roosevelt Care Center. She was an active member of St. Mary's R.C. Church.


In addition to her professional accomplishments, Judy was known for her warm and caring personality. She had a generous heart and thrived on helping those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched many lives and she will be deeply missed by all.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph D. and Lottie A. Cannon, sister Mary Ellen Welch and brother-in-law Charles Sztukowski. She is survived by her husband James D. Smith, her son James Smith, grandson Rei Smith, sister Annette Sztukowski, brothers Joseph and wife Donna, and Mark and wife Dawn. In addition to the many loving nieces and nephews.


Cremation was private. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday July 18, 2026 at 10:30am at St. Mary's R.C. Church 256 Augusta Street, South Amboy. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals" 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy.


She was our angel on earth now our top angel in heaven.
