Julie Gatyas Stroin Obituary

Julie Patricia Gatyas Stroin, 92, peacefully passed away on Thursday October 6, 2022 at St. Joseph Home, Woodbridge. Born in Perth Amboy she lived in Morgan for over 70 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy. Julie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was loved by all she knew. She was the most selfless person and though we will miss her dearly we know she has been reunited with Joe.

Daughter of the late James and Suzanne Varu Gatyas she is also predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years Joseph E. Stroin, Sr. in 2017; her brothers James, Peter, Alex and Joseph Gatyas and her sister Ethel Slovik. She is survived by her devoted children and their spouses Joseph E., Jr. and Lauren of Colts Neck, Thomas and Jayne of Lake Orion, Michigan and Suzanne and Kevin of Red Bank. She also had 5 grandchildren who were the light of her life, Colin and Ashley Stroin, Madeline and Griffin Stroin and Jack Murphy and her grand-dog Maggie Murphy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday October 10, 2022 at 11:15am at St. Mary’s Church, 256 Augusta Street, South Amboy followed by entombment in Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 10 to 11am only, in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church.
