Leonard Chrzaszcz Obituary

Leonard P. Chrzaszcz, 86, of South Amboy died on Friday April 14, 2023 at Summer Hill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. Born in Sayreville he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Before retiring, he was employed by the South Amboy Board of Education. A member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, South Amboy he was also a member of the South Amboy Elks Lodge 784. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed camping, puzzles, smoking his pipe and playing shuffleboard.

Son of the late Paul and Jennie Szafranski Chrzaszcz he is also predeceased by his wife Patricia Norek Chrzaszcz in 2022 and his grandson Paul Michael Chrzaszcz in 2012. He is survived by his sons Lenny and his wife Lydia, Michael and his wife Annie, Joe and Stephen and his partner Rocio and his grandchildren Paige, Ashley, Joey and Justin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 20, 2023 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Melrose Fire Company or Mechanicsville Fire Company.
