Manvel Edward Semoneit, 85, of South Amboy died on Wednesday August 26, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Easton, Pennsylvania. Born in South Amboy he lived there all his life. A veteran of the U.S. Navy he was employed by JCP&L, South Amboy before retiring. A member of Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy he was also a member of the American Legion Luke A. Lovely Post 62, South Amboy and the Sayreville VFW Post 4699, as well as past president of the South Amboy Irish American Association and the USS Strong Association. He previously served as the systems council president of the IBEW.
Son of the late Manvel Edward and Georgine Mack Semoneit Hansen he is also predeceased by his grandson Matthew Semoneit and his stepfather William Hansen. He is survived by his wife Anita Dexheimer Semoneit; his sons and daughters-inlaw Karl and Denise Semoneit of Buena Vista, Colorado and Kurt and Laura Semoneit of Nazareth, Pennsylvania; his grandson Jonathan; his granddaughter Kristen; his step-granddaughters Erin and Emily and his step-great-granddaughter Madeyln.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 31, 2020 at 12 noon at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Monday morning only from 10am to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to “Dream Come True” Benefit for Ill Children, www.dreamcometrue.org.
