Mark Joseph Carter, 62, of Franklin Park passed away on Wednesday December 17, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South Amboy he worked for Comcast for 30 years before retiring. He was known for his steady dedication to his work and his thoughtful presence among colleagues.
Mark was a longtime fan of science fiction, enjoying stories that sparked his imagination and curiosity and loved to share his books. His generosity extended beyond life, as he was an organ and tissue donor, giving others the chance to live healthier, fuller lives.
Son of the late Lawrence S. and Catherine Clarkson Carter he is survived by his siblings Mary Kay Carter, Bernadette Ricciardi, Larry Carter, Monica Marie, Veronica Carter-Macchione and Christopher Carter and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation was private under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. A graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Amboy at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Easterseals New Jersey in Mark’s memory. eastersealsnj.org/donate
