Melissa found purpose and fulfillment in her career at Kean University, Union, where she made a positive impact on the lives of those around her. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond the workplace, as she was deeply involved in various activities that reflected her vibrant personality.

An avid runner, Melissa cherished the sense of freedom and accomplishment that came with each stride. Her love for running led her to embrace an extraordinary extracurricular activity, "Girls on the Run," a group of resilient and dedicated young girls in South Amboy. Melissa wholeheartedly believed in these girls as the brightest future of an amazing generation, fostering their strength and determination through the power of running.

In addition to her passion for running, Melissa had a diverse range of interests, including knitting, bee-keeping, pickleball, gardening, baking, crafting, art, charitable work, biking, hiking, and swimming. Her enthusiasm for life was boundless, and she approached each endeavor with unwavering dedication.

Melissa is predeceased by her parents, Michael C., Sr. and Diane Burgess Paul, as well as her beloved husband, Chris Maiorino. She is survived by her devoted partner, Oliver Haran; her loving brother, Michael Paul; her caring uncle, Gil Burgess, and her faithful canine companion, Gracie.
